But I'd been shooting other scenes when coming across this family, and the roll needed using up! At the time people were a bit more laid back about children and photographers. I'd given a cursary nod to the parents to see if they objected and figured they'd realise I was looking for silhouettes anyway. All was OK. Digging moats and exploring low tide sands are classic seafront past times. I was pleased with the shapes in this simple scene, though it didn't get used in a calendar as a small shot till the 2007 edition.
